Reading of new book

On September 2nd at 7:00pm, Dr. Richard Geldard will be giving a reading of his new book, Emerson and the Dream of America: Finding our Way to A New and Exceptional Age at Barnes & Noble on West 82nd Street in NYC.

Dr. Geldard has recently had his third article published in the Huffington Post. Take a look, this piece made the front page of the Politics section, In This Other America.

Emerson: The Ideal in America

On Thursday, February 1, at All Soul's Church in New York City, the Ralph Waldo Emerson Institute presented a screening, for members and friends, of the video biography entitled Emerson: The Ideal in America (52 min). Bringing Emerson to life in his own words, the film also features interviews with leading Emerson scholars, including:
 
  • Robert Richardson Jr, author of Emerson: The Mind on Fire
  • Sarah Wider, Professor of English at Colgate University and President of the Emerson Society
  • Richard Geldard, senior advisor to RWE.org and author of The Spiritual Teachings of Ralph Waldo Emerson
  • Barbara Solowey, teacher and lecturer
  • Richard Grossman, author of A Year With Emerson
  • hosted by Jim Manley (RWE.org), directed by David Beardsley and produced by RWE Institute.

Following the screening, there was a panel discussion and a question-and-answer period.
