Reading of new book

On September 2nd at 7:00pm, Dr. Richard Geldard will be giving a reading of his new book, Emerson and the Dream of America: Finding our Way to A New and Exceptional Age at Barnes & Noble on West 82nd Street in NYC.

Dr. Geldard has recently had his third article published in the Huffington Post. Take a look, this piece made the front page of the Politics section, In This Other America.

    RWE Institute

    The Ralph Waldo Emerson Institute is incorporated not-for-profit in the State of New York.

    It's mission is to promote to a global audience a greater understanding of and appreciation for the life and work of Ralph Waldo Emerson . The primary means of reaching this goal  is through this web site (www.RWE.org) and through the online and offline activities of the Institute.  The Institute's affiliations with The Ralph Waldo Emerson Society and the Ralph Waldo Emerson Memorial Association help to further this mission.

    The Institute welcomes membership and seeks to encourage interested persons to support the work of maintaining the web site and to take an active part in exploring the life and work of America's Founding  Thinker.

    Another key mission of the Institute is to encourage members to write. To that end, essays can be submitted and will be posted on RWE.org.  Also we will be making  web pages will be provided for memebrs so that they can reflect further in writing about their experience with Emerson's work and with their own application of Emerson's vision.

    Waldo Emerson said, "Do your work and I shall know you."
    He may have suggested,
    "Write, and I shall know you."



  • Membership

    Membership in the Ralph Waldo Emerson Instiitute, at various levels, supports the work of the Institute, the Ralph Waldo Emerson Society, and, most important, the presence of rwe.org on the Internet as a global outreach. The mission of the Institute is to make available to anyone with access to its web site the Complete Works of Ralph Waldo Emerson, plus all relevant information to promote greater understanding of America's Founding Thinker.

    Membership levels

    Basic: $40.00 per year
             Provides access to all Emerson materials, plus Search capabilities, Queries to the Site Advisor, Notes, Journals, the Emerson Concordance.  A gift item of an inscribed pen. LAter features will include free email and a web page.
    Student:  $20.00 per year with proof of school status, to include all the above.
    Senior:  $30.00 per year, with proof of age (65 and over), to include all the above

    Founding:  $120.00 and Basic Membership after Year One.
             Provides automatic membership in the Ralph Waldo Emerson Society and the above features.

    The Emerson Circle:  $360  
             Provides the above plus choice of inscribed gift books.
